2 Corinthians 4:1-2 (NKJV) “Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.”
You can’t stop it because people are gullible. Hucksters or peddlers of the Scriptures is increasing.
2 Timothy 3:12-13 (NKJV) “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.”
Why do they twist the Scriptures?
Acts 20:29-31 (NKJV) “For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.”
Sadly, unsaved men that profess to be saved, enter the ministry. Then you have actually saved men entering the ministry. They get a whiff of strange doctrine, and they become false teachers, prophets, apostles, and pastors.
They get puffed up within themselves with prestige, personality, power, and influence.
They acquire a following, and the rest is history.
Notice what Luke wrote of what Paul said.
“…to draw away disciples after themselves.”
Paul knew that this would happen. The same is said today.
They twist the Scriptures and when you don’t ask the right questions to expose them, they’re let off the hook.
Sadly, people claim that they want more of God.
They listen to a variety of speakers and get caught away.
2 Timothy 4:2-4 (NKJV) “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”
We’re beginning to understand that music is behind it all. Music that appeals to the soul. In most cases, the lyrics will follow Scripture but the music arrangement is key to getting you to a place of vulnerability.
You’re disarmed and then the time to be deceived comes.
Never walk into a place to be deceived by being disarmed by good music.
Always keep your guard up.
The one time that you become comfortable is the one time deception enters.
Galatians 1:8-9 is there for a reason.
