Born Again

Years ago, the world successfully infiltrated the minds of preachers and believers to declare that “born again” is a joke. It worked.

People in church backed away. As a young believer, even I was intimidated.

I was dead wrong.

The Head of the Church said “You MUST be born again.”

No one in hell is laughing about it. Every person is weeping with gnashing of teeth about the tormenting flame that mocks their mocking. Especially those that considered being “born again” a joke.

True believers take no pleasure in the death of the wicked or those that mocked the very words the Lord Jesus said.

The Lord Jesus said, “Except a man be born again, he shall not see the kingdom of God.” and “Unless one is born of water and of the Spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”

It was a lesson to me and other believers. Never let the world punk you into backing away from the Word of God.

So, when you’re witnessing or open air preaching, never let the world scare you away from standing on the Scriptures.

The Bible is the Ultimate Standard of morality. The world has no standard for morality, even though the Lord stamped His moral law on every person’s dark heart (see Romans 2:15-16).

The effects of it is still here today. The reason it remained is because the devil has engrained it in our minds to never “offend people.”

We’re insensitive. Telling sinners to repent is insensitive. No. God was sensitive to the sinner’s condition and “demonstrated His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

We fail to realize that sin offends God.

When I listen to people on YouTube about their flippant attitude about Christ dying for sin, it’s because they don’t understand the magnitude of what the Lord Jesus did for us. We fail to agonize with what our Lord did for us. We lightly call it grace, but we leave out His selfless act of mercy.

The Lord God didn’t spare His Son. The Lord God smote the Shepherd (see Zechariah 13:7). As Isaiah said prophetically. “He was wounded for our transgression, He was bruised for our iniquity. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him…..”

The beating, the spitting, the shame, the nails, the crown of thorns on His head, and other humiliating things done to Him, but the real weight of the world came when the sin of the whole world was placed on Him. After that, the Father turned His back on His Son.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Matthew 27:45-46 (KJV) “Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”

The world writes this off as…………that’s what He did for us so that He can forgive us.

But they, and even professed believers write that off that “we’re forgiven.”

We can go on about our lives because we’re forgiven.

Yes, the “handwriting of ordinances that was set against us and was contrary to us,” was “nailed to the cross.

But that’s not the whole gospel.

The blood that was shed was sinless blood. Sinless blood is God’s only requirement to forgive sin, cleanse it from the heart of men, so that God can inhabit the heart. That’s the second thing that happens when we realize that our penalty for sin was paid in full.

If a sinner sees no need to repent, a sinner will not repent.

When we repent or turn from sin, and we turn to God (see Acts 3:19), the Spirit, the water, and the blood (see 1 John 5:6-8) agree.

Titus 3:5 says, “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.”

We don’t expect sinners to know this deep mystery, but those that are truly in Christ, and have been born again know this.

So with renewed vigor, we boldly share the gospel the way it’s designed, with no apologies.

You must be BORN AGAIN.

The Minister's Crucible is designed to inform the Body of Christ about the inner workings of the ministry. The word Crucible from Latin, is "crux" where we get the word "cross" from. It also means a "metal container" where metals and other substances are melted or are subjected to higher temperatures, put to the temperature test. The Lord Jesus said "If any man desires to follow after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me." Let's take up our cross and follow Him.
