There’s a lot of false prophets and teachers out there and sadly, they all advertise on Facebook intending to lure the unsuspecting immature believer, and sinners.
This post isn’t an attack on the true Body of Christ.
We intend to bring awareness of what’s out there so that true believers can avoid falling into the same pit as others. If you believe that this is an attack, I can’t stop that, but true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are teachable and humble.
If he’s a false prophet, then his folly will continue. If Todd (his last name) is misguided, then he will learn from this experience, mature into a seasoned man in the pulpit, and never do stunts in the pulpit.
Please don’t assume that he’s automatically a false prophet, but this is one of the ways that false prophets emerge. He would do well to learn from this gross mistake and never do it again.
Even sadder is that people on Facebook flock to certain places and false prophets. The house of worship becomes a peace where the spectacular is expected to “experience” God but there’s very little conviction of sin, repentance of sin, or surrendering of sin.
satan has devised a way to drop your guard.
They have world class musicians, playing world class music to lure people.
Some of the lyrics are Scripturally accurate but when the teacher gets up, they’re inaccurate and teach heresy, and sin.
Your emotions have been breached and even with your Bible open, the enemy sends deception into your hearts and if you’re not mature enough to understand even the basics of Scripture, you’ll be deceived.
The Lord Jesus warned us about when they would show up.
John, Paul, and Peter warned us about their arrival.
You don’t have to be dumb if you don’t want to.
You can’t stop people from being silly with the Scriptures but you can rescue yourself from being gullible (see Proverbs 14:15). Unless you want to remain stupid with false prophets.
If you choose to be and remain dumb, it’s on you.
As the end of times progress, this spitting incident will look like child’s play. If you think that he is a “man of God,” you’re being trained to worship the beast and his image because he will bring signs and wonders for you to see.
Again, I want to stress that Todd is not an antichrist or a precursor to the beast, however, when we see misguided acts in the pulpit, the alarm is serious. Also, again, signs and wonders are ways to get people’s attention.
But Todd wasn’t doing a sign or wonder, but using spit to illustrate a point.
Matthew 24:24-25 (NKJV)
“For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand.”
Then Paul said in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (NKJV)
“Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.”
How will he show himself that he is God?
It won’t be because he said that he’s God.
Revelation 13:11-15 (NKJV) “Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.
He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.
The only story in the Bible when spit was used is found ONE TIME in Scripture.
Has it happened since the time the Lord Jesus did this miracle?
If it did, it must yield the same results or that person is a false prophet, or fake teacher.
John 9:1-7 (NKJV)
“Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.
I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.”
The difference between the Lord Jesus and Todd was that the Lord used a combination of spit and the dirt on the ground and that he applied it on the man, and told the man to go wash in the pool of Siloam. Todd just smeared spit on a man”s face.
There’s no record in Scripture where this was ever done again.
So when someone attempts to do something in Scripture and it fails, then that person is a false prophet.
Now I know that there’s some individuals that will say, “Oh, he just missed God.”
Why is it that we always give people an excuse to miss it?
There’s no question that he missed it but what we’ve done is that we’ve excused it and we move on.
God never excuses missing Him.
In fact, the Lord uses this as an end time sign.
Matthew 24:11 (NKJV) “Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.”
On a different unassociated note, there’s been a lot of dumb things done with Covid. But we don’t have to do dumb things.
Each pastor and house of worship should be very careful about certain things. We should never entertain extremes. We should be quick to obey the Lord and less inclined to trust man when it comes to everything, including Covid (see Jeremiah 17:5-10).
There’s no question about this man made, man released disease called Covid. If you’re not walking the way that you’re supposed to walk, you can’t claim anything in the Scriptures.
Especially when you’re living in sin.
So the lesson is clear. Try to use illustrations that have tact and is done according to what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15…..“decent and in order.”
