Are You Governed By Fear Or Faith?
Covid sent a panic that is still being felt by many people today. People are afraid of sickness that may lead to death. But death is inevitable. There’s a good chance that we’ll see more pestilences in our lifetime.
In fact, the Lord Jesus prophesied of pestilences in Matthew 24:7-8.
Whether we like it or not, there’s nothing that we could do to stop it.
Many in power is pushing for 100% vaccination. Saying that it’s the only way to stop the disease. But the ones that we were supposed to trust have been holding aback information that’s critical to a person’s survival. We want to be told the truth. But the ones that we’re supposed to trust refuses to tell the truth.
The people in power throughout the world is telling everyone to wear masks, get vaccinated, continue to social distance themselves, but people that do these things still get infected.
More variants of Covid is around, make no mistake about it. But there’s something worse than Covid that’s yet to be unleashed.
The more we read what they want us to read from the Internet, and the more we sit I. front of the TV to hear the latest news on Covid, the more we feed on the fear they’re pushing. The media is dependent upon people fixating themselves to hear the news and it’s a great multi-layered platform to give you what they want to you have.
And that’s why they fight the true church that believe in the truth of God’s Word.
The investigative mind is the media’s worst enemy because when they see that you refuse to take their word for it and thoroughly investigate it, and then expose it for what it is, that’s their greatest fear.
Because if you expose it for what it is, a lie, the fear disappears.
When the fear disappears, truth emerges, and they have nothing to make you do what they want.
When you refuse to be governed by their push of fear, and when they run out of manipulative ways to get you to comply, they must walk away.
The Lord gave some sound words to Paul to give to Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:7.
“For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
Then in 1 John 4:18-19 (NKJV)
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.”
Since the love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit (see Romans 5:5), and we have the fruit of the Spirit, love (see Galatians 5:22), fear doesn’t stand a chance to overcome us unless we give in to fear.
Remember what we’ve seen in 1 John 4:18-19, fear has torment.
Fear agitates. Fear is more spiritual and mental. Paul told Timothy that God has given us the spirit of a sound mind. The Greek definition for sound mind is “self control.” Also, we must remember that the fruit of the Spirit is “…self control.”
We can control ourselves not to give in to the tormenting affects of fear.
When fear dictates our decisions, it’s clear that the source of fear is driving our emotions. That’s why we must exercise self control.
That’s why it important to meditate on Proverbs 3:21-27.
Sound wisdom and discretion will keep and preserve you. Instead of feeding on the media and believing every word they’ve said, take the time to feed on the Lord and His Word.
Meditating on the Word and then doing what the Word says will help you more than feeding on fear that torments the mind.
Now when the Lord gives you sound wisdom and discretion (see James 1:3-8), the Lord will show you how to be calm and fearless, even when the world puts ultimatums to force you to make a decision that isn’t in your best interest.
True believers know that the Lord kept them in the past and the Lord will keep us in the present and future. You just have to make up your mind to trust the Lord, no matter what.
Just remember that you have to choose to either trust a liar, or trust the One that never lied.
