God. I’m Going To Sin And I’m Not Sorry

2 Corinthians 7:10 (NKJV)

“For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.”

The mercy and grace of God means a lot to those that realize how wicked we were in His sight. When we’re not sorry, it’s easy to sin against God.

2 things makes it easy to sin against God.

One: No fear of God before our eyes (see Romans 3:10-18).

Two: Our pleasures must be satisfied at ALL cost (see Romans 13:11-14 and James 4:1-10).

It’s not just sorrow Paul speaks of. He said “godly sorrow.”

It’s the kind of godly sorrow that refuses to deceive him or herself about how they’ve treated God. If we were really sorrowful for sinning against God, we would never do it again.

Many will say that’s impossible not to sin against God again.

If that’s your stance, never quote “I can do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens me.”

Because if you can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, you can stop sinning against God.

Then there’s Matthew 7:21-23.

If you’re blatantly practicing lawlessness, you’re in grave danger.

Jesus will tell you “Depart from Me you that practice lawlessness. I never knew you.”

The fear of the Lord means that you’re afraid of God. Yes, it carries reverential respect, but a grave fear of God because of His ability to bring punishment and chastisement.

1 Corinthians 11:27-32 (NKJV)

“Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.

For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

Communion is not a walk in the park. It’s dangerous.

When we fail to properly approach the Communion Service in holiness, humility, and cleanliness, we risk being sick, weak, and death. When we do revolving door remorse, one day, we will revolve right into our graves.

When we’re not serious about repenting (turn from sin), the Lord gives us space to repent. Not to sin some more but to get our act together.

David could have judged himself but it took the prophet Nathan to corner David.

It didn’t have to take a prophet to expose the heart of king David. But David insisted.

David wasn’t sorry that he killed Uriah. You kind of figured that he would be, but lust will drive a man or woman to depraved indifference. In other words, we don’t care about who gets hurt and we don’t care who has to die to keep our the sin covered.

David was ruthless and heartless and God judged Him in the open sun.

Never lose being afraid of God.

But fast forward to today.

Many pastors and believers are being exposed for who they are.

Hypocrites.

I remember well when God forced me to expose my depraved, hypocritical self because He was after my heart. Pornography engulfed my heart. Until the Lord said to me……..

“Come Clean! Or be exposed.”

I wasn’t sorry to sin against the Lord. I had no fear of God before my eyes.

But when the Holy Spirit works His conviction within your heart, and reminds you of God’s wrath, if you don’t have “godly sorrow that works repentance, leading to salvation,” you will get further and further away from holiness. You will become callous.

You will depart from the faith. You will declare on your own that you’re hopeless and because of self deception, place the blame on God, religion, His Word, and make all sorts of baseless, delirious, and insane imbecilic, childish excuses to continue in secret sexual sins.

And just like watching a person’s before and after picture of a person arrested for smoking methamphetamines, so is the one that goes deeper and deeper into sin.

Matthew 12:43-45 (NKJV)

“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.

Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”

That’s why people struggle in houses of worship. We don’t understand the depth of struggles of sin people encounter. They come into worship and return to the vomit.

What doesn’t help is teaching everything that helps people conceal their secret life instead of allowing the light of His Word to expose our hearts so that the Lord can help us to come clean before His holy presence.

When you’re not sorry, you will easily sin against the Lord.

We prove how sorry we are when we obey His Word.

Prove that you truly love Him by keeping His commandments (see John 14:15).

The Minister's Crucible is designed to inform the Body of Christ about the inner workings of the ministry. The word Crucible from Latin, is "crux" where we get the word "cross" from. It also means a "metal container" where metals and other substances are melted or are subjected to higher temperatures, put to the temperature test. The Lord Jesus said "If any man desires to follow after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me." Let's take up our cross and follow Him.
