God has an unusual way of speaking to people ignorant of the times we’re living in.
From YouTube to Twitter, from Amazon to Facebook, names that are familiar have become brands by which people gravitate to to connect, buy and sell.
But the one brand that sticks out the most is Tik Tok.
Many of you are old enough to remember the nursery rhyme Hickory Dickory Dock.
“Hickory dickory dock. The mouse went up the clock
The clock struck one. The mouse went down
Hickory dickory dock
Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.”
Tick tock is also used to tell us three things. That time is almost up or time is being counted, or we are on the clock.
The Lord Jesus tells us what we all need to know to be ready for the final phase of the fall of man.
Matthew 24:3-14 (NKJV)
“Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”
Three questions were posed to the Lord Jesus.
- When will these things be? (The destruction of the Second Temple).
- What will be the sign of Your coming?
- What will be the sign of the end of the age?
When Jesus said that “you will be hated by all nations.” this is speaking of Israel and His true believers in Christ.
As the history of Israel will recall, the Second Temple was destroyed in AD 70 by Titus and the Roman Army. Jesus said that there would be “wars and rumors of wars.” He never revealed what war it would be or the year, but the war that destroyed the Second Temple became the start of what I would call the time piece of Israel.
But the final countdown clock starter is in verse 32.
Matthew 24:32-33 (NKJV)
“Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors!”
Tender means young. Relatively speaking, Israel, according to modern terms, is a very young nation.
The symbol of Israel is the Star of David, but no one knows the actual origin of the symbol of the Star of David. But Jesus uses the fig to describe a very important occurrence in the history of Israel.
For 2000 years, Israel wasn’t recognized as a nation until May of 1948. Which was just a few years after WW2.
The League of Nations (United Nations) finally acknowledged Israel as a nation.
But before, 1948, something happened during WW1.
Quoting from a source….”The Balfour Declaration, which resulted in a significant upheaval in the lives of Palestinians, was issued on November 2, 1917. The declaration turned the Zionist aim of establishing a Jewish state in Palestine into a reality when Britain publicly pledged to establish “a national home for the Jewish people.”
Then in 1967, 50 years from 1917, Israel took control of Jerusalem, and in December of 2017, the Trump administration formally recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, 50 years after 1967.
Some of you will not see it because of the blindness of the heart.
Here in the United States, we’re seeing a complete dismantling of the last remaining super power on earth. This lines up with Daniel’s prophesy in Daniel chapter 2.
With corruption and lawlessness establishing its foot hold in every fabric of this Republic, it’s paving the way towards the coming of the Lord.
Many believers have a “mid tribulation” or “post tribulation” interpretation of the rapture of the church, using inferences in the book of the Revelation of Jesus, however, there’s undeniable proof of 1 Corinthians 15:50-57, 1 Thessalonians 4:11-18, 5:1-11 that the rapture of the church must happen prior to the beginning of the Great Tribulation period, because of what Paul shared in verse 9.
1 Thessalonians 5:9 (NKJV)
“For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ…”
The wrath of God is poured out in Revelation chapters 5 through 19, ending with the Second Coming of Christ to pour out His wrath. So based on this verse, we haven’t been appointed to wrath.
There will be arguments and differences of opinions but the one thing that we all should be doing is preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, repentance from dead works and faith towards God through Jesus Christ. Warning every man with fear and trembling as opposed to arguing among ourselves about points of Scripture.
Revelation 22:12-17 (NKJV)
“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”
Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”
And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.“
Then Revelation 22:20-21 (NKJV)
“He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
Pastor J D Farag shared a very good point about the word “quickly.”
From Strong’s Concordance…….g5035. ταχύ tachy; neuter singular of 5036 (as adverb); shortly, i.e. without delay, soon, or (by surprise) suddenly, or (by implication, of ease) readily: — lightly, quickly.
Look at the Greek word “tachy.“
It’s where we get the word tachometer.
Which means……..“an instrument which measures the working speed of an engine (especially in a road vehicle), typically in revolutions per minute.”
The harder you press the pedal on an engine, the faster the revolutions per minute increases.
We’re seeing things speed up with a noticeable intensity in the environment, political, and spiritual things. It’s happening so fast, that we can’t keep up with it to report certain things.
Like labor pains of a pregnant woman, the end of the end is about to be birthed.
Finally, the remaining big piece is the first thing that the Lord Jesus mentioned.
Keep your eyes on everything, but keep your eyes on Jerusalem.
Israel is the time piece of God. Once the Temple is built and the Jewish worship is reestablished, the rapture may have taken place already. That’s why Romans 13:11-14 is very important.
Already, the Middle East is shaping up. The move out of Afghanistan of the United States is a significant part of the shaping up of the Middle East. And there’s other events that will shake us all.
It’s like the tick tock on the clock on the wall is getting louder and louder.
Soon. There will be no need for the clock.
Tick Tock. Time’s almost up.
