What Is “Woke Christianity?”

When the world uses terms of the world, it’s in accordance with the world’s purpose. Listen to what Paul said in Ephesians 5:8-14 (NKJV Strong’s)

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.

But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says:

“Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”

Also………Romans 13:11-14 (NKJV Strong’s)

“And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand.
Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”

We don’t need to follow the world with their wicked purposes.
Let’s follow the Word of God.

So what is “woke?” From Wikipedia, the following……….

Woke (/ˈwoʊk/ WOHK) is a political term originating in the United States referring to a perceived awareness of issues concerning social justice and racial justice.[1] It derives from the African-American Vernacular English expression “stay woke“, whose grammatical aspect refers to a continuing awareness of these issues.”

Mid- and late 19th century “The term wide awake first appears in political culture and political ads during the 1860 presidential election in support of Abraham Lincoln.[5] The Republican Party cultivated the movement to primarily oppose the spread of slavery as described in the Wide Awakes movement.[6]

But for today, it’s just another form of political correctness.

Since 2016, with all of the shootings and killings of Black people, shame has been brought unjustly on White people. There’s no question that Black people have been shot and killed by police officers, but it’s not as prevalent as MSM would have you to believe.

And each incident is different with various criminal elements behind most police confrontations.

The narrative has always been that people are innocent and White police officers are picking on innocent Black people. A one size fits all narrative. Then when the facts emerge, the narrative loses its potency. But in the minds of people, the narrative is further established, even in the face of true facts that emerge.

Also, we have to remember that more often, White people are killed by White police officers than Blacks.

These facts can be observed on the FBI website for statistics of shootings.

Hence, the church.

Many believers are pushing the existing narrative that racism is alive and well in the Body of Christ.

Because in the true church and Body of Jesus Christ, schisms doesn’t exist. The reason why they don’t exist among believers is because they’ve been “…renewed in the spirit of their minds” (see Ephesians 4:17-32).

But it does because believers haven’t been renewed in their minds about the love of God.

True believers walk in love towards one another according to John 13:34-35. Plus, Paul said in Romans 5:5 that “The love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.”

Paul confronted Peter regarding his respect of persons or racism in Galatians 2:11-21.

The choice to love or to hate is in each of us. We have to choose to love one another and not allow skin to divide us. And we don’t need political correctness to teach us what we, as believers, should have been doing in obedience to the teachings of the Lord Jesus.

It takes courage to separate ourselves from the things of the world and at times, even more courage to stand alone when no one will go with you. We don’t have to follow the crowd of the world.

All it takes is for one person to stand with courage against the culture and political winds to stand on Biblical principles.

When man does things apart from God, it’s under his own power and he has to work hard to make it happen. Doing it God’s way is so much easier.

The condition of the heart need to be changed.

That’s why the Lord said in John 3:7, “You must be born again.”

After a person is born again, the mind needs to be renewed.

Paul said in Romans 12:2 (NKJV Strong’s)

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

The world wants to do it without being changed in the heart. Which is why when another incident occurs, they wonder why their solution came up short.

When the heart is made new by way of the new birth, as long as the mind is renewed by the Word of God, the risk of a relapse is minimized. And even eliminated, so long as a person remains obediently consistent with the Word of God according to James 1:17-27.

Finally, we must not attempt to appease the world by marching with them (BLM/Antifa) in protests because associations with them underscores their rule upon the church. We don’t have to give in to their demands to be accepted.

The top of the list of their demands is to be a Godless society.

Original sin and NO accountability to God for sin. Man desires to continue in sin without answering to God for it.

When the world pulls the church away from its Biblical roots, compromise is demanded.

The world will not allow you to bring Jesus into their dark world because Jesus is the Light of the world. He brings light into dark places and the darkness comprehends it not.

The world demands change on their terms, and their terms is no Jesus, no Bible.

Jesus is either Lord of all or Lord of none.

The Minister's Crucible is designed to inform the Body of Christ about the inner workings of the ministry. The word Crucible from Latin, is "crux" where we get the word "cross" from. It also means a "metal container" where metals and other substances are melted or are subjected to higher temperatures, put to the temperature test. The Lord Jesus said "If any man desires to follow after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me." Let's take up our cross and follow Him.
